Pro Pyro Troubleshooting¶
Check these items before changing solver quality or rebuilding a setup.
- Solver restart required: some changes, such as Voxel Size, Dense box size, Memory Limit, or channel setup, require the solver to restart. Jump to the first frame or press Start Solver again to apply them.
- Out of memory: increase Voxel Size, reduce Dense Domain Size, lower Detail Upscale, disable unused Fire/Color channels, or lower Memory Limit in Sparse Advanced mode.
- No smoke visible: check that the emitter is enabled, the source object exists, Smoke Rate is above 0, Voxel Size is not too large, and the preview channel is set to Smoke or Density.
- Fire does not ignite: enable Fire Channels, emit Fuel Amount and Heat Amount, then lower Ignition Heat or raise Heat Release.
- Smoke looks too smooth: lower Voxel Size, raise Swirl Detail, add Turbulence, use Detail Upscale, or reduce Softening/Fade values.
- Emitter trails have gaps: increase Smooth Fast Emitters or Inherit Motion. Animated source motion is detected automatically.
- Relative cache path warning: save the .blend file before using a path that starts with
//. - Fast GPU Volume is not listed: confirm that Blender is using Metal on Apple Silicon macOS or Vulkan on Windows/Linux, then restart Blender after any backend change. OpenGL is not supported.
- I need a mesh from Pyro: add a Pro Particles Mesher post effect, add a Pyro Volume layer, select Smoke/Temperature/Fuel/Flame and its Surface Threshold, then use Blender Geometry or the central Output tab for Alembic export.
